The Souris River, a tributary of the Assiniboine River in North America, flows through the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the American state of North Dakota.

It originates in southeastern Saskatchewan, flows southeastward into North Dakota, then turns northward into Canada, and joins the Assiniboine River near Brandon. It has a total length of 966 kilometers (600 miles) and is only partly navigable. The basin covers an area of ​​57,000 square kilometers (22,000 square miles) and has fertile soil. It is a major spring wheat producing area and is also rich in mineral deposits (coal and oil).
