Plymouth is located in Devon, southwest England. Plymouth is a unitary administrative region and city in England, 310 kilometers (192 miles) northeast from the British capital London, and 58 kilometers (36 miles) northeast from Exeter, the county seat of Devon. This "Plymouth" is the birthplace of cities of the same name around the world.

Plymouth is a city with a rich maritime history. It was once a shipyard for the Royal Navy and a port where the British went to sea from the 16th to the 19th century. Important sites in the city include the castle, Devonport Dockyard and the Tower (the starting point for the Pilgrims' journey to America in 1620). Plymouth has excellent transportation.
