Located on the south shore of DISKO Bay on the western coast of Greenland (full name: GREENLAND), on the northeast side of the Davis Strait, it is one of the main ports in western Greenland. Transportation is mainly based on boats, helicopters and sleds. The port has passenger and cargo ship connections with Denmark, Canada and Iceland. The economy is dominated by fishing and fish product processing. The main aquatic products are cod, shrimp, flounder and salmon. Hunting is a traditional industry for Greenland residents, and the main objects hunted are seals. The port has a continental cold zone polar climate. The average temperature in January is about -20℃, and the average temperature in July is about 6℃. There is polar darkness from December to January of the following year, and there is midnight sun from May to July. The navigation period is from early May to early December, and you can enter and exit day and night. The average rainfall throughout the year is about 600mm. Average tide height: high tide is 2.6m and low tide is 1.5m. The main terminal berth in the port area is the Atlantic Terminal, with a coastline of 170m and a berthing depth of 8.1m at semi-low tide and 10.7m at semi-high tide. Loading and unloading equipment includes shore cranes, truck cranes, forklifts and freight trucks. The main imported goods are machinery, transportation equipment, food, metal exports and semi-finished products, etc. The main export goods include fish, shrimp and other aquatic products.
