The University of Nice-Sofia Antipolis (hereinafter referred to as the University of Nice) was established in 1965 by a decree of the French government. After more than 30 years of development, it is currently the largest multidisciplinary comprehensive university in France. Its main campus is concentrated in Nice, with a total of 7 campuses; it also has 4 directly affiliated branches in Sofia Antipolis. In addition, it also has affiliated teaching institutions in Cannes and Menton; the campus covers a total area of ​​200,000 square meters. The university's administrative headquarters and main institutions are currently located in Walross Castle on the Walross Park campus, where the natural sciences teaching and research unit is located.
